Meet the Kalamazoo County Road Commissioners The Road Commission is governed by a board of five county road commissioners who represent the public at large. The board's regular meetings, to which the public is invited, are held at 3:30 p.m. on alternate Tuesdays at the Road Commission office, 3801 East Kilgore Road, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Such meetings may be associated with the creation of special assessment districts or to receive public comment on major improvement projects. Dennis J. Berkebile Mr. Berkebile was appointed to the commission in January 2005 and served as chairperson in 2005 and 2006 and vice chairperson in 2007. He has been involved in community activities throughout his career, both in Indiana and Michigan. A Texas Township resident, he has been a member of the township's board, zoning board of appeal and planning commission. He also is on the boards of Michigan Works and the Food Bank of South Central Michigan. Since 1996, Mr. Berkebile has been employed by Consumers Energy, for whom he currently serves as area manager. Maddox Mr. Maddox, a Galesburg resident, joined the commission in January 2005 and served as vice chairperson in 2005 and 2006. He was elected Chairperson of the Board in 2007. He also is a member of the board of directors of the Home Builders Association of Greater Kalamazoo and co-chairman of its Home Expo Committee. His career has included extensive sales and management experience. Mr. Maddox has been with Bel-Aire Heating & Air Conditioning since 1995. Currently, he is the company's sales manager. Jeffrie M. Maddox Chairperson 3670 Wingate Meadow Galesburg, MI 49053 (269) 342-8290 Kent L. McCauley Mr. McCauley, Member, was appointed to the commission in January 2007. A Vicksburg resident, he serves on several Vicksburg boards including the Planning Commission, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, School Board Foundation and United Way. He also has been active with the Vicksburg Village Council, Michigan Road Builders Association, American Underground Contractors, Michigan Asphalt and Paving Association and Michigan Aggregate Association. Moyle Mr. Moyle, Member, was appointed to the commission in November 2007. A Texas Township resident, Mr. Moyle has many years of experience managing a company that maintained and constructed highways, roads and airports. Oscarson Mr. Oscarson, Member, was appointed to the commission in November 2007. A Schoolcraft Township resident, Mr. Oscarson has worked with county road commissions for over 36 years as a professional engineer and has been active in township, zoning, and building board of appeals.
